FLIR ONE

FLIR ONE — phone-attached thermal imaging cameras

§ 01

Definition

FLIR ONE is Teledyne FLIR's family of consumer / prosumer thermal cameras that attach to a phone. Three models exist: FLIR ONE Classic (USB-C tethered), FLIR ONE Edge (Wi-Fi), and FLIR ONE Edge Pro (Wi-Fi, higher resolution). All three deliver a live radiometric stream that can be paired with a third-party iOS app for specialized workflows.

§ 02

Technical detail

Detector type and resolution vary by model — Edge Pro is the highest-spec consumer offering, with a higher pixel count and a wider temperature measurement range than Classic. All three preserve per-pixel radiometric (temperature) data on the live stream.

FLIR's first-party iOS app supports live preview and single-frame radiometric capture. Workflow gaps (radiometric time-lapse, automated long-duration captures) are filled by third-party apps — Thermlapse is one of them.
