Research engineering and scientific software. Instruments before interfaces. Measurement before marketing.
Firm
Slick Engineering & Consulting, Inc. was founded in 2016 and is based in Delray Beach, Florida. We are a research engineering and consulting firm that builds practical tools and software products rooted in applied science — from professional imaging and thermal analysis tools to mobile applications that put specialized capabilities in users' hands.
We don't build software for software's sake. Every product we create is a means to an end — solving a real problem or giving people a useful tool they wouldn't otherwise have access to.

Principal
Corey Slick is a research engineer with over 25 years of experience supporting the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and NASA.
Former engineer at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (Caltech/JPL), where he worked on imaging sensor system simulation and radiometric modeling, and at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL), where he contributed to ballistic missile defense IR seeker analysis and NASA spacecraft guidance & control modeling for the Van Allen Probes mission.
His career spans hands-on work across electro-optical and infrared sensing, LiDAR remote sensing, image & signal processing, real-time anomaly detection from airborne platforms, and embedded systems prototyping. He has worked directly with U.S. Naval Special Warfare (DEVGRU) on special reconnaissance equipment R&D, and has supported programs across the U.S. Army, Air Force, and Intelligence Community in civilian capacity — as government employee, independent consultant, and trusted agent.

Slick Engineering builds and sells a portfolio of measurement instruments, imaging tools, web tools, and digital products rooted in applied science — FlickerSpec (LED flicker meter), Thermlapse (radiometric thermal time-lapse), NameVerdict (brand-name clearance), the Automate Your Life Blueprint Series, and a roadmap of 6+ more. Research-engineering consulting is selectively secondary.
Founder and principal. Research engineer with 25+ years in electro-optical / IR / imaging systems and scientific software. Career: Caltech / NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, U.S. Naval Special Warfare (DEVGRU), Aelius Exploitation Technologies, U.S. Army I2WD / Redstone Arsenal, U.S. Air Force SMC, currently Northrop Grumman. M.S. and B.S. Electrical Engineering, Penn State.
Delray Beach, Florida. The company has been operating since 2016.
Project-based, scoped to deliverables — typically 2–8 weeks. Areas of fit: electro-optical and IR systems, sensor/detector modeling, signal and image processing, radiometric modeling, GPU-accelerated computing, and AI-orchestrated MVP development for technical products. The shop sells evidence and shipped artifacts, not time. Open-engagements posture is shown on the homepage with current capacity.
It is the shop's positioning. Slick Engineering treats the phone as the most powerful integrated sensor pack most people will ever own — and ships measurement-grade tools that produce defensible evidence (IEEE 1789 verdicts, IEC TR 61547-1 PstLM numbers, per-pixel radiometric temperature data, USPTO trademark serials) rather than vibes. The same research-engineering rigor extends to non-sensor products like the Blueprint Series and NameVerdict.
No. Every paid product is one-time. FlickerSpec Pro is $149.99 one-time, Thermlapse is $9.99 one-time, NameVerdict is per-report ($39 / $99), and Blueprint Series products are $39 each. There are no recurring-subscription products in the portfolio.
